Please use this page to navigate (via the tabs on the left) to the areas with information to help you with your preparation for treatment. Mr Howard will take time to explain everything you need to know regarding your condition and treatment when he sees you in the outpatient clinic. Please bring a list of questions (and your medication list) with you for your consultation. The NHS and Private clinics at the Oaks Hospital have more time to discuss your condition and proposed treatment than at Colchester Hospital. I am afraid the clinics at Colchester Hospital are very busy but there is usually enough time for you to gain all of the information you require, however an additional appointment can be made for you in order to provide more time if needed. We also have many detailed information leaflets regarding specific treatments.
Please use the form below to ask any further questions regarding your treatment or telephone my Private PA Megan Wood on 01206 522413 for the Oaks Hospital and Private Healthcare and my NHS Secretary Nadine Martin on 01206 742454 for Colchester Hospital.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to carry out face-to-face consultations at the Oaks Hospital. We are therefore booking telephone consultations, usually on a Monday afternoon. If you wish to arrange a telephone consultation then please call Megan on 01206 522413 or 07956 895974. We ask that if you are requesting a telephone call regarding varicose veins that you email Megan with photographs of your legs, front and back whilst standing. Please note that you will be given an appointment time for a telephone consultation but this may not be exact depending on timings of previous calls.
Mr Howard runs a holistic leg ulcer and cellulitis clinic with Emma Rayner, Vascular Nurse Consultant. These joint clinics offer full diagnostics, specialist dressings, compression bandaging and antibiotics treatments. The clinic runs most Monday evenings between 6pm and 8pm for private patients.
